TUNE IN TO HEAR CARROLL CAMPBELL

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, January 26, 2010

MT. PLEASANT, SC – Carroll Campbell, candidate for South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District, spoke to conservatives across the nation on Monday night when he was the featured guest on Dr. Laurie Roth’s nationally syndicated The Roth Show.

Speaking on what Roth calls the “Radio Show of the Tea Party”, Campbell outlined his priorities, discussed how he would fight against the status quo in Washington, and talked about the excitement caused by the recent Senate victory in Massachusetts.

“One thing we do know is that the pendulum is swinging back to the right,” said Carroll Campbell, “We need to make sure that, in Congress and Senate, we have the right people in position to deal with the (current) problems.”

A successful small business owner and entrepreneur, Campbell added, “We need business-minded people that will approach government as a business… We need to be bottom-line driven with getting away from entitlements, earmarks, and bailouts.”

Following a newly-released report which found South Carolina’s unemployment rate was a whopping 12.6%, Campbell stressed the importance of creating jobs and growing business across the state and nation. “We have got to get people the opportunity to go back to work,” he said

Campbell also declared that - besides economic development - his top priorities are keeping America safe from terrorists and getting control of government spending. Campbell spoke of needed changes within the Republican Party and how important the Tea Party Movement is to bringing common-sense conservative values back to Washington.

Carroll Campbell has outlined his commitment to the values of the Tea Party Movement - state rights, following the Constitution, and favoring empowerment over entitlement. He has spoken to multiple Tea Party and 9/12 gatherings in South Carolina.

Carroll Campbell served as Treasurer and Secretary of the South Carolina State Ports Authority's Board of Directors. He is a successful small businessman who previously worked for Fortune 500 South Carolina employers. Serving on past and current Boards of Directors for the South Carolina Economic Development Association, the University of South Carolina's Board of Visitors, the Newberry College Board of Trustees, the Richland Memorial Hospital Center for Cancer Treatment, Ducks Unlimited, and as Past Chairman of the Palmetto Alzheimer's Association; Carroll Campbell has been a leader in the state of South Carolina.
