Campbell Continues TOUGH JOBS Tour in Myrtle Beach

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, April 20, 2010

MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Carroll Campbell today continued his TOUGH JOBS Tour by cleaning in a Myrtle Beach hotel.

Campbell scrubbed showers on his hands and knees and helped the housekeeping staff at the Myrtle Beach Atlantica Resort to highlight the tough and dirty work done to keep the District's tourism industry running.

This was his second stop on his tour to promote the First District's economy and to bring attention to his 10-Point Jobs Plan.

Campbell's detailed 10-point plan is available for download here:
CARROLL CAMPBELL 10-POINT JOBS AND ECONOMIC GROWTH PLAN

Campbell's plan uses an innovative approach to tax reduction to spur hiring, an approach he first announced in District speeches last year. It also focuses on improving the transportation infrastructure of the District and on conservative-based policies to allow the government to help, not hinder, job growth.

In announcing his plan yesterday, Campbell said, " Our state faces a jobs problem; we must change course and start creating jobs in South Carolina and right here in this District. Now is not the time to send politicians to Washington just to create more government. We need to change government to operate more like a business."

"I have created jobs - I created more than 500 jobs right here in this district in the restaurant business. I know how to successfully run a business, create jobs, and meet a payroll," Campbell added.

Other stops already planned for Campbell's Tough Jobs Tour include installing hardwood floors in Charleston to highlight the construction and renovation industries, gutting fish for a seafood packaging company to highlight the fishing industry, working with a transportation company to get goods in and out of our ports, and doing the tough work required to maintain shipping and boating lanes with a dredging company.
